IRAN, 2009, In the wake of a manipulated election, protests and civil unrest have overtaken the city. A young couple, Roya & Siavash support the calls for justice but where Siavash is enthusiastic about joining the protests, Roya is afraid of the violence of the regime. The couple ventures into the streets, adding their voices to the protests. But the protest is broken up by violent militias and Roya end up in a cell questioned by Maryam and the Chief Interrogator.

Nilou will serve as core instructor for Young Women Composers Camp 2020.

Nashville Symphony Composer Lab & Workshop is an opportunity for young composers to hear their music performed by the Nashville Symphony, receive mentoring and feedback from orchestra professionals, and potentially earn a performance of their work on a future Nashville Symphony program.

About We the Innumerable: After the 2009 presidential election in Tehran, Iran, Roya and her husband, Siavash, become targets of the state for participating in nationwide protests against the election result. Siavash is murdered, and Roya is imprisoned and put under extreme pressure to record a confessional stating that her husband was a Revolutionary Guard force who was killed by the enemies of the state. The opera is the heroic journey of an Iranian woman who protects the truth in the face of fear and violence.
